UUCJ Auction
The Annual UUCJ Auction is food, fun, and the chance to bid on some pretty interesting items and activities! If you are interested in helping to make this FUNdraiser happen, email [email protected] and we will put you touch with the fundraising chair.
Auction 2023
On Friday, November 10, David and Barbara Winner brought back the UUCJ’s annual Goods and Services Auction for its first time post-COVID. The almost 40 participants, including many newcomers, enjoyed a dinner prepared by the Olive Garden with dessert from the competition that earned $93 for the church and bragging rights for Rosemary Hedberg!
Chuck Brininger was the auctioneer, with pauses in the bidding for jokes, wheel of fortune, and heads or tails 50/50. Several events scheduled at the church will be offered later for those who weren’t present to sign-up. Ellen Butkus and Pat Brininger recorded the winning bids while Dan and Linda Fellows were kitchen crew.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed items and events, helped with set-up and clean-up, bought dinners, and “won” in the auction that netted the church ~$2,600!

Lunch and Coin Show at UUCJ
Saturday, March 2 was the Lunch and Coin Show folks signed up for at the November 2023 UUCJ auction. Numismatist Chuck Brininger shared considerable American history in his slide presentation of coins from an 1857 half penny through the 2009 William Henry Harrison presidential dollar. A few people brought coins for appraisal – mostly those they’d won at the auction!
